I’ve been coming to Ann Arbor Boot Camp for nearly 3 years now. When I first came to boot camp I was nearing my 70th birthday, overweight and out of shape. My son was coming to Fit Body at the time and I asked him if I could go with him and try it out. We went together a couple of times, I liked the program. ( also a long time ago I read an article about a woman who became a bodybuilder during her 70s. I figured if she could do it, so could I. So for my 70th birthday I gave myself a membership. I’ve struggled with my weight all my life and I started exercise programs only to stop after a short time.
Jan and Jerry showed me that I needed to eat a healthier diet and encouraged me to exercise often. After 3 years I’ve lost 46 pounds and exercise 3-5 times a week. Jan and Jerry are always there to encourage me during my workouts, which helps me to work harder. Plus as I age there is so much more I want to do and being fit helps me to do those things. Last summer my daughter and I went to the Porcupine Mountains where we went on a 12-1/2 mile hike through the mountains. I probably wouldn’t have been able to do that before coming to Ann Arbor Boot Camp.
This program has changed my life. It’s helped me to make better food choices and keeps me moving. There is always another adventure waiting for me and I want to be ready for the challenge.
