I am a 67-year-old woman who joined Ann Arbor Boot Camp about 4 years ago. I have always struggled with my weight and have tried all kinds of exercise programs. I played softball until my late 40’s, but never really stuck with anything for too long. Most of my life I’ve been at least 40-50 pounds overweight. I was just so tired of being tired, not having my clothes fit properly and just an overall unhappiness about myself. For some reason I just could not find what worked for me until I met Jan and Jerry at Ann Arbor Boot Camp.
I saw a promotion on Groupon for Ann Arbor Boot Camp and decided to give it a try. After the trial week I knew it was a good fit and decided to join the boot camp family. The best part is working with Jan and Jerry who are truly inspiring. They are so welcoming and make you feel right at home. They go above and beyond with advice on nutrition and workouts. They are always there to make sure you are doing the exercises correctly and safely. They are very good about keeping you on track with your goals and offer any assistance and guidance that you might need.
I started off going to boot camp two days a week and felt like that was all I would ever be able to do. Jan and Jerry were very encouraging saying that over time you’ll not only be able to come more often because you’ll become stronger, but you’ll also want to because you enjoy how good you feel. I’m up to five days per week now and genuinely look forward to each session. I would’ve never believed I could make it even three days a week, let alone five! Boot camp has not only changed me physically, but mentally as well. The fun, positive energy during the sessions and the accomplishment I feel afterwards is worth every minute. It’s a place I can let go of all the worries of the world and just feel good about myself.
Thanks to Ann Arbor Boot Camp I am healthier, happier and so much stronger than ever before. With my weight down and my head up I am truly enjoying life to its fullest. If you do one thing for yourself, make it count by joining the boot camp family.
